Developer GSC Game World have revealed the title will only be arriving on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, with PR manager Zakhar Bocharov stating that it would be ‘impossible’ for the title to operate on Xbox One.

“S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is a next-gen game, and it’s impossible to run it on Xbox One or PS4“
This is often the case between console generations, we will continue to see this with a lot of titles that are currently launching as cross-gen releases.
Due to the requirements of the game, it will only be feasible for it to release on Xbox next-gen consoles and currently GSC Game World do not have any plans to bring the title to PlayStation 5.
This news comes as no surprise as partnering with Microsft could provide opportunities, especially with Game Pass.
