Reddit user ‘creamypockets’ took to the platform to share an image of the outside of the home saying “This house in the update teaser does not appear to match the houses of any of the existing 497 villagers in New Horizons. Does this mean were having another new villager?”
However, Nintendo have been quick to address players questions regarding additional villagers and confirm that unfortunately the house design does not feature in the game and have issued and apology for the misunderstanding.
This was confirmed in a blog post where Nintendo said that the items that were shown in the trailer were part of the upcoming Children’s Day. Sadly, we take this information as confirmed that there will be no new villagers, not yet anyway.
