The new Gulag has been met with a mixed bag of emotions from Warzone fans as many are unhappy and want the old Gulag to return.
Warzone Season 3 only became available a few days ago, however players have been quick to share their opinions on the games new features.
The new Verdansk 84′ map has been met with mixed feelings from players, with some enjoying the new vibrant aesthetic while others aren’t as impressed and want to return to the original Verdansk map.

The map has seen a handful of changes take place, many iconic locations and structures have undergone changes along with most of the buildings receiving a lick of paint. Overall the map looks brighter and more vibrant compared to its previous dark and dismal look.

That isn’t all thats new though, one thing players didn’t expect was the changes that have been made to the Gulag. Players see the Gulag as a classic zone where they are able to battle it out for a chance at revival, however the recent update has left a vast number of fans disappointed.

The new Gulag is based on the Black Ops 2 Standoff map which has been outlined with the same proxy props and board that have been used in the Nuketown Gulag. However, the main difference that has upset fans is that where as older maps were pretty simple and fast, the new map is following a different design.
Fans have taken to social media to share their opinions on the new multi-levelled Gulag, with one fan saying:
“Ok so Maybe I need to give it more time, but does anyone else currently HATE the new gulag? Too many obstacles to camp behind, and the second tier is ridiculous.”
“I had a pretty good record with the previous gulag, but now I’m dying to these guys that just camp in a shadow more often then not…”
With the Gulag’s new complex design, players are now able to hide and camp which many fans feel is the complete opposite goal of the Gulag being a last stand area.
However, the new Gulag has also been met with some positive feedback from fans who are enjoying the new changes and reminiscing the memory of the Standoff map. Although it is not the Gulag experience we are used to, it certainly shakes things up and brings a fresh perspective to the game.
