Brandon Snow Activision Blizzard CRO has responded to the ongoing rumours that suggest Fortnite-style live events are coming to Warzone.
Whether you love it or hate it there’s no denying that Epic Games’ battle royale has paved the way for the future of always online games as well as the battle royale genre as a whole.
Live events in Fortnite have seen the like of Travis Scott and Marshmello hold virtual concerts turning Fortnite into an entertainment platform as well as a video game.
Warzone fans have been hoping to see the same thing come from Warzone, but so far nothing has come about. Now we have a little clarification from Activision executive Brandon Snow.

In an interview with Inverse, Activision’s Chief Revenue Officer was asked how likely it was for Warzone to see these same types of events.

“We certainly see Warzone as a very large ecosystem that can continue to engage players and provide places and spaces for people to gather” Adding “In the upcoming seasons, you’re going to see some really cool new stuff that Warzone has never done before. It’ll be really exciting and done in a Call of Duty way.”

Although this is exactly the kind of vague answer you would expect from a higher up, Snow did go on to say “Only Warzone could do the things that we have planned in the upcoming seasons.”
While not a direct promise of live events, the wording does suggest something big is coming to the game in the near future.

Snow also commented on the possibility of Warzone becoming an esport by saying they “see an opportunity for Warzone to play a part of our esports product… We plan to bring that to the table very soon.”
While no official announcements were made, there definitely seems to be a lot for us to look forward to if what Snow is saying turns out to be true.
