Aliens: Fireteam is an upcoming third-person shooter by Cold Iron Studios that will release this Summer.

The game is set in the year 2022. 23 years after the Alien Trilogy. Aliens: Fireteam won’t take the players back to any locations they’ve visited in the previous games or films, and it won’t include any of the characters from them either. Cold Iron Studios are starting with a clean slate for this one.
You play as a newly hired marine. The character creator will let you select from one of five classes (demolisher, technician, gunner, recon, and medic). All classes will have their own abilities, for example, docs provide buffs and heals for the team, while technicians can deploy portable turrets.
Multiplayer will see you play in teams of three and missions will span across four different campaigns, and there is over 20 different types of enemy types to fight, and an array of different guns and gadgets.
“With Aliens: Fireteam, you and your friends will experience stepping into the boots of a squad of hardened Colonial Marines fighting in the ultimate battle for survival,” said Craig Zinkievich, Head of Cold Iron Studios in a press release “This is the action game Aliens fans have been waiting for – hordes of different Xenomorphs swarming over ceilings and across walls, surrounding your team and striking from every angle. Work together, customize your character, utilize tons of weapons and gear and…well, you just might get your fireteam out alive.”
Hopefully the graphics we see in the trailer are the ones we get on the final release, but we won’t get our hopes up as that’s rarely the case with game trailers. It definitely looks like a fun experience and with over five different difficulty levels to chose from there’s one for every skill level.
Thankfully the announcement of the game only comes a few months before released, so we don’t have long to wait, assuming there isn’t any delays or other development hiccups. Aliens: Fireteam looks like a great game to play with a group of friends and I for one, can’t wait.
