Massive engine differences have been noticed between Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare thanks to new screenshots.
Players were already aware before the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War that it would be using a different engine to Modern Warfare. This hasn’t phased many as on a multiplayer level the game remains virtually unaffected however players have started to noticed some issues with Cold War operators in Warzone.
It seems that the difference between the graphics between both engines has became obvious. Players were already aware that they would be facing some differences however they could never be sure just how serious they would actually be.
Recently, the issue has became more apparent after fans noticed difference between the engines on one particular skin and it seems its more obvious than we could have ever imagined. Players are even turning to social media to discuss the major differences they have found within the games.
Reddit user ‘spideyjiri’ took to the platform to upload an image featuring said operator side by side from each engine. You can easily notice the major differences displayed between the two, with one looking a lot sharper than the other.
It has already been noted by players that Warzone operator skins tend to loose quality when converted over to other engines, it seems that with Cold War’s engine it gives the impression of the character standing more upright with a lot more shadowed textures.
Looking closely at the two images it seems that Modern Warfare is offering a more realistic approach, it can also be noticed that the hair is a completely different shade. Although, we can’t necessarily say that one is better than the other, but we can’t get the over the vast differences between the two.
This isn’t the only inaccuracy either, there has also been heaps of other differences that fans have noticed throughout the game too. It seems that Sims has been completely recoloured, Park has totally different coloured gloves and Maxis has had her skin mirrored.
Although they still remain very different games, you can clearly see the differences between Cold War’s arcade style approach and Modern Warfare’s realistic approach. That being said, ultimately it comes down the preference of the player which skin they want to go with.
