Rumours suggest that Huawei could have plans up their sleeve to make their mark on the gaming hardware market, and they have Playstation and Xbox in their sights.
Huawei may be in line to create a new gaming console, one of which could rival the likes of Playstation and Xbox. Although currently there is no further details of what the platform type would be.
If they do go ahead and build a new console, it wouldn’t actually be their first. But fingers crossed that a new console would be more popular than the 2014 Tegra 4, Android Jelly Bean based console.
Given the next-gen consoles that are on the market at the moment, its likely that this console if it was be created would follow along the lines of something similar. Could it be that an APU similar to Playstation and Xbox could feature in this new console?
After AMD connected with partners in China a few years back in order to produce zen-based CPUs, it could be we will see a comparable APU in new console by Huawei. Although it could al be the case that Huawei would want to branch out and try something completely new featuring its own silicon designs.
Last year we saw that Huawei launched the GameCenter which was a gaming service for Android built on top of Huawei Media Services. However, fast forward to this January it seems that Tencent Games have now removed every single of its published games from the store, although the GameCenter itself still has a host of Android games still available.

Having an inventory of Androids games ready to go is an ideal set up for launch day as the gaming content is always the most important feature. However, we are more likely to see Huawei produce a gaming laptop first of all before any console releases.
Of course, we don’t know for sure what exactly to expect or when to expect it, only time will tell but it sure is something exciting to look forward to in future.
