Respawn Entertainment have completed yet another ban wave in order to try and combat cheaters running riot in Season 8, the developers also confirmed that they will be taking more severe action against cheaters and taking their anti-cheat to the next level.
Battle royale seem to be the number one target of hackers trying to cheat their way to the top causing frustration for other players along the way. The problem has gotten so bad that even some of the top players have vowed not to play again until these issues have been rectified.

In the past we have seen various ban waves put into action to try to rid the game of cheaters and it seems that Respawn are staying strong in issuing these ban waves. It was recently confirmed that yet another wave was implemented on February 23rd which manually rid the servers of over 600 cheater accounts.
Conor Ford, the head of security at Respawn Entertainment took to Twitter to share the news, the Tweet read “652 cheaters manually/individually banned today. Am tired. Love you all”

Remember that these 600 bans were done manually by a person reviewing an account, and along with this they also have an automated anti-cheat systems in the place to try and catch cheaters when the least expect it, however over time some hackers have been able to make their way through these anti-cheat systems without being detected.
He has also addressed this issue in an earlier Tweet explaining that there will be an extra focus on cleaning up the servers in Japan, with Japan having the second largest market for Apex Legends, players are often plagued by lots of hackers throughout the game.
