You’d better be ready to say goodbye to Verdansk, as Call of Duty Cold War gears up for its first season on content. With season one starting on December 16th, it will be releasing with an “unprecedented” amount of free content, including sever expansions for both the main game, and the free to play Warzone side too.
Activison released a blog post recently which described season one as “the largest free content drop in Black Ops history” while adding “A massive expansion of free content, including the comprehensive integration of Operators, weapons, player progression, and Battle Pass rewards across Black Ops Cold War and Warzone.”
They also teased that battle royale is “set to go beyond Verdansk”. Get ready to be dropping into a brand-new Warzone map, along with a brand new mode. A new Gulag experience is coming too, which may have something to do with the Rebirth Island/Alcatraz leaks we’ve seen in the past few days. The publisher have also promised that Warzones weapons arsenal will be expanding considerably with the addition of over 30 of Black Ops Cold Wars weapons and blueprints.
Nothing has been fully revealed yet, so we have no concrete details about the new map or the new Gulag, but we an expect Activision to release more details over the next few days.
Cold War will be getting plenty of new content, including the return of a fan favourite map from Black Ops 2. “Prepare for an incredible amount of free content in Black Ops Cold War, including new Multiplayer maps, new and fan-favorite 6v6 modes and playlists, the return of 2v2 Gunfight with four new maps, and a massive new Fireteam map,” Activision wrote.
“This offering includes a battle through a sprawling luxury complex within the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles. That’s right: the legendary Call of Duty: Black Ops II 6v6 map known as Raid will be ready to play in Black Ops Cold War at Season One launch.“
All we can do now is wait for December 16th to come, and prepare our harddrives for what will probably be a massive update.
