Black Ops Cold War: Everything you need to know about how the Prestige System works

Alex KirtonSeptember 26, 20220

Players have been curious about just how the prestige system works in comparison to previous games in the series, one of the best parts of this system is just how smoothly it is going to work with Modern Warfare and Warzone.

There has been some big changes made to the prestige system in Cold War than what we have seen in previous games, however in Season One there is going to be a player progression system that is going to extend to all three CoD games.

This will be extremely beneficial to players as they can play and progress through levels in any game they choose to play, with the new seasonal structure in place too, we are sure will give fans a few challenges.

There are still tweaks to be made on how this system will be working this time around, however it is still going to embody iconic features when players progress that we have seen in previous titles. This new system will be heavily focussed on Seasonal changes, which means there will be a lot of seasonal challenges for players to take part in.

There will also be a host of new milestones for players to reach throughout the year, unlocking different features as they complete their way through them. There will also be more rewards than ever before as the prestige process will carry over between each season.

Players must still work hard in order to reach Military Rank 55, however on their voyage to the top Rank they will unlock heaps of features such as field upgrades, scorestreaks, new weapons, attachments, perks and wildcards.

The first prestige will be earned at Rank 55, gamers however will be relieved to know that none of their progress will be lost up to now meaning any unlocks they have already, will be kept as the game progresses.

There are three prestiges in total to be achieved:

  • Prestige 1

This can be earned at Season Level 1, and players will be rewarded with a sticker and prestige key.

  • Prestige 2

This can be earned at Season Level 50, and players will be rewarded with a sticker, prestige key and also a weapon blueprint.

  • Prestige 3

This can be earned at Season Level 100, and players will be rewarded with a sticker and prestige key.

Season One will be launching on December 10, which urges player to progress as they have limited time to reach Season Level 100. In each upcoming season there will be four new prestiges to achieve, with over 25 to obtain overall across all of Cold Wars upcoming seasons.

  • Season Level 50

Players will be rewarded with a sticker, prestige key and also a weapon blueprint.

  • Season Level 100

Players will be rewarded with a sticker and prestige key.

  • Season Level 150

Players will be rewarded with a sticker and prestige key.

  • Season Level 200

Players will be rewarded with a sticker, prestige key, they will also receive the sought after title of ‘Prestige Master’.

Receiving the “Prestige Master’ title is considered a huge achievement as it is not easy to reach Season Level 200, in order to mark this occasion and to let other players know you have reached this, you will be able to change the colour of your prestige level an also choose with Legacy Prestige Icon you would prefer.
